12 Aug Moving forward: a letter from Carmen Costa
Dear clients (and readers),
I have decided to create this week’s blog post as a letter to you all. The reasoning is simple: I believe in building relationships with everyone I work with and I like to add a personal touch to all the work I do. When you visit our blog, you encounter a series of posts geared towards the home buying process. At The Costa Group Mortgages, we believe in providing you with all the information you need to acquire a mortgage.
Since January 2018, the introduction of the mortgage stress test has added a new level of stress for homebuyers. This stress test set a higher bar for uninsured-mortgage applicants. I say “new” because similar testing had existed for the insured mortgage since 2016. However, let’s look on the bright side: as of this week, Canadian mortgage growth is back due, in part, to lower interest rates. According to Scotiabank Economics, Canadian household mortgage credit increased by 5.2 percent on a month-over-month basis in June, the most rapid growth since July 2017. Definitely very exciting news.
Speaking of exciting news, I would also like to share with you – if you haven’t heard yet – that The Costa Group Mortgages is now independently owned and operated. I thank my team and clients for supporting us in taking this important step. It is without a shadow of a doubt due to the combined efforts of the team that we have grown to be the company we are today. I am pleased to announce that we are serving our clients in nine different locations. As you can imagine, we are now able to provide you with even better services than before. By the same token, I am very happy to announce we will be having the grand opening of our new office on September 12.
With nine different locations, we are now more accessible, flexible and able to offer deep expertise about what we love the most: providing you with a comprehensive array of services and solutions for your mortgage.
I hope we can start working together from now on.
Sincerely,
Carmen Costa
